My Top 5 Movies/Shows of 2018

Hello and welcome back! Christmas is passed, have you received books? I received a lovely Pj, so comfy!

Now, let’s begin with the list of the best and worst of 2018 with the Top 5 Movies/Tv Shows that I watched this year:

5) The Good Cop: you already know that I love Josh Groban, and this crime/comedy series is lovely. You can read my review here.

4) Aggretsuko: how lovely is Retsuko? I love her, this series is so funny, and I see myself a lot in the main character. And now there’s the Christmas Special episode too!

3) Errementari, The Blacksmith and the Devil: have you read my enthusiastic review of this horror movie? It’s fantastic and really underrated.

2) Loving, Vincent: this is absolutely a masterpiece, an incredible work of art that needs to be seen in HD. And the music is heart touching.

  1. The Lizzie Borden Chronicles: Christina Ricci is amazing as Lizzie Borden in this miniseries on Netflix. I loved everything: the costumes so rich and beautiful, the history and the locations, the mystery, the acting of all the actors. Definitely the best TV show I have seen this year.

Bonus: Violet Evergarden.

This anime series is so sad and heartbreaking, with beautiful scenarios and landscapes. However, it’s really slow and the ending is…a sort of cliffhanger? I need answers!!

And these are the best movies and shows I’ve seen this year! What are your faves?

The Jingle Bells Book Tag

Hello! Last tag before Christmas! I found this on The Little Wise Owl, go and check this wonderful blog!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” – What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?

30312855
Right now I’m obsessed with The Last Magician, I don’t know why, but I know that all the books I will receive this Christmas are the ones I buy myself.

“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time” – What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?

13516154

“Enjoyed” it’s not the word I would have used, because this book has destroyed my heart. But it’s the best of the year.

Elf – What book unleashes your inner child?

6310

“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas” – Which book has most festive look to it?

19540829

Hogfather by Terry Pratchett! I have this wonderful Hardback edition I bought in Maastricht.

The Grinch – Your favourite villain…

The Other Mother from Coraline! She’s really spooky, and with that buttons on the eyes…

The Holiday – Name your favourite TWO couples…

I don’t read romance books, and I usually don’t like the superhyped books with “famous” couples, so I will say two couples of friends: Rufus and Lin from The Twistrose Key and Harry and Luna from Harry Potter.

What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?

Flights and chimes and mysterious times is such a wonderful book and it’s so underhyped.

And that’s all, Merry Christmas to all of you!

Netflix series review: The Good Cop

The Good Cop

Cast: Josh Groban, Tony Danza, Monica Barbaro, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Bill Kottkamp

Executive Producers: Andy Breckman, Howard Klein, Randy Zisk

Episodes: 10

Release date: 21 September

Rating: 4/5

I only watch the first 2 episodes, so this will not be a review of the entire season 1.

I’m a great fan of Josh Groban, so obviously I was expecting this series. Groban is the son, Tony Caruso Jr, and Danza play the father. The son is the good cop, the too much good cop, so stickler for the rules. The father is a corrupt cop who is now forced to live with his son. I read a lot of nasty comments and reviews online, written by “famous website” who didn’t reccomend this series, because it’s boring.

Well, I admit it’s not like “CSI” or “Criminal minds”: there isn’t blood on the crime scene, no violence or s*x scenes (for this 2 episodes!) and I really like that.

I really enjoy crime series, but I don’t want to watch constantly gruesome shows. The news are bad enough, thanks. This is the perfect show to watch with all the family: it’s funny, quiet and the episodes are about 21 min long. There’s only a mistery for episode, so they’re pretty simple, but original and the other characters contributes to the light and easy atmosphere.

There was a scene in the first episode that makes me laugh so hard. And I really like the father/son scenes. I will definitely watch all the 10 episodes.

I hope for just a little “sing a song” scene with Groban in the next episodes. This will be perfect.

Any other fan of Josh Groban out there?
